Urban Ashram Manila’s Project Y Launch

Last March 14, Urban Ashram Manila, the premier center for the study of Yoga in the Philippines, launched Project : Y, a program which aims to advocate the Yoga lifestyle to young adults. Yoga focuses on the pursuit of a lifestyle driven by achieving self-realization through physical wellness, mental mastery, meditation, as well as breath control. The core of the practice being: the overall health and wellness of the practitioner.

Starting a revolution of a new generation of enthusiasts, Urban Ashram Manila has brought together six of those who are representative of what they stand for.

One of the six young Yoga practitioners vying for the title of Urban Ashram Manila’s brand ambassador, Ianna Garcia says, “My yoga practice teaches me to respect where I am at the present moment, and to accept today’s limits. However, it also reminds me that the non-actualization of a goal does not mean that the goal is beyond reach but rather that it is not within reach just yet. Yoga does not discriminate. It sets no standards, imposes no expectations and has no prerequisites, except an open mind, a willing body and a kind spirit. My yoga practice is my own; it belongs to no one but me and is about no one but me. It is a personal journey to self-improvement, mindfulness, spiritual-growth, and body-awareness.”
