What to Expect with Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are cosmetic treatments that help increase skin volume to smooth out wrinkles, reduce pitted scars, and make lips fuller. Unlike botulinum toxin, fillers do not reduce the activity of muscles in the face.

Out of the many kinds of dermal fillers available in the market, hyaluronic acid (Restylane, Juvederm, Captique) is the considered to have the best safety profile. HA is a natural sugar found in skin and doesn’t contain human or animal DNA.

Treatment procedure

Dermal fillers are administered into the skin through injection, which takes around 10 to 15 minutes. The procedure is generally tolerable and does not require medication. After the treatment, you may experience redness and swelling, which may last up to 36 hours but can be reduced with an ice pack. Depending on your body’s reaction to the fillers and on your doctor’s recommendation, repeated sessions may be required to achieve the desired effect.

Effects of fillers

Fillers can last anywhere from six months to two years. Results are subtle yet very impressive in reducing fine lines and restoring skin volume. You will look younger and more refreshed but in a natural way. To help preserve its effect and protect your skin against post-inflammatory pigment changes, use sunscreen daily. Once the plumping effect wears off, your skin will go back to its natural state and you may need to get another filler injection.

Things to consider

Before getting dermal fillers, it’s always best to consult with a doctor before undergoing the procedure. It is also advisable to have the treatment in a medical setting with sterile instruments to avoid the risk of infections. Do not get fillers if you’re pregnant or nursing because its effects have not been tested on settings of such sensitive nature.

And remember, even with dermal fillers on, you still need to get regular skincare treatments and use well-formulated skincare products to keep your skin looking younger and healthier for a very long time.

Got wrinkles? Man up for Beauty-Tox!

Bothered by the wrinkles that start to creep around your eyes, on your forehead, and on the rest of your face? Heck! If only you can easily get rid of wrinkles using botulinum toxin… But it seems like that’s a woman’s thing, right?

The truth is nobody’s stopping you from getting botulinum toxin, also called Botox or Beauty-Tox. It’s an FDA-approved medication for all adults, men and women alike. In fact, there is a growing number of men over the past years who got “Botoxified” in the hope of taking a few years off their appearance.

Male patients are mostly in their 40s and 50s in various professions, but especially those whose jobs require them to look younger and healthier. Some of the Hollywood men who admitted to using Botulinum toxin include Simon Cowell, David Hasselhoff, and Patrick Dempsey.

How does Beauty-Tox treat wrinkles?

Beauty-Tox uses Botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is administered in very small concentrations into the areas where wrinkles appear using a fine needle injection. The drug then blocks the nerve impulses responsible for controlling the muscles, thereby preventing muscle contraction. As a result, the muscles relax and the appearance of wrinkles and folds soften.

The most common areas treated by Beauty-Tox include the forehead, sides of the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows (frown lines).

More Treatments for Beauty-Tox

Aside from reducing wrinkles, Botulinum toxin is also used to treat several health issues, including chronic migraine, blepharospasm, crossed eyes, severe neck and shoulder muscle spasms, excessive sweating, and teeth grinding.

Why should you get Beauty-Tox?

In this modern and competitive world, people’s perception on beauty has changed; Cosmetic treatments are no longer regarded as exclusive for women.

If you’re a man and appearance is an important part of your job but you are not getting any younger and wrinkles are starting to show on your face, you have the power to defy aging. Man up and get Beauty-Tox now!

Gwen Zamora gets #REBORN at Shinagawa

Actress Gwen Zamora discovered a new beauty treatment called #REBORN at Shinagawa Aesthetics Center. The Filipina-Italian beauty was one of the clinic’s first clients to try out the new premium derma service.

Gwen got #REBORN to get rid of the dark circles under her eyes and rejuvenate her dull skin from lack of sleep.

Calling Shinagawa her favorite clinic, Gwen eagerly promoted #REBORN via Instagram and Facebook on her treatment day. She also brought home skincare products from CELESTY, a brand she has been endorsing for years.

#REBORN (which stands for Rejuvenate, Enrich, Brighten, Oxygenate, Regenerate, and Nourish) combines Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy with laser resurfacing to achieve safe and natural skin rejuvenation.

The procedure begins by extracting the patient’s blood. The blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the PRP—known to contain growth factors that promote tissue repair and collagen production—from the rest of the blood cells. After that, the PRP is injected back into the skin.

This will be followed by laser resurfacing wherein the laser energy is directed into the treated areas of the skin, penetrating its dermal layer to hasten the process of tissue repair and collagen formation. The laser treatment also gives an instant tightening and face-lifting effect.

Taking only around 20 to 40 minutes, #REBORN is a highly recommended treatment for early signs of aging, including dark circles, under-eye puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, and saggy skin. It can also heal pitted acne scars and improve overall skin.

Mikey Bustos LASIK Post Operation at Shinagawa LASIK Center

Mikey Bustos was having fun as he documented his LASIK post-op checkup two months after his surgery. “Blindness is not an option,” said the cheery Vlogger after finding out that his 20/10 vision remained unimpaired.

LASIK post-op checks are important to determine how a patient’s vision has progressed after the surgery. This procedure is free of charge and is done periodically after 1 day, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. During this period, the refraction of the eyes and other effects of the treatment are assessed.
