Are you Hangry? Here’s why fasting is beneficial for you

Some may think “hangry” is a typo, but it’s a compound word for hungry and angry, indicating a mental state.. A person in a hangry state is quite moody such as feeling sore and irritated.

Fasting, on the other hand, is a noble sacrifice that cleanses and heals the body. Fasting leads to better health and fewer medications for hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol.

However, only a small percentage of people fast regularly or can sustain this lifestyle for an extended period of time. Many had quickly given up on the thought of being unable to eat in a day as the hangry state occurs.

One of the benefits of fasting is changes in hormones, expression of our genes, and functioning of our cells. Another attractive potential benefit is preventing cancer with regular practice of fasting.

    What is Autophagy?

Autophagy, in layman’s terms, is like a decluttering or recycling mechanism of the body to make good use of the old and damaged cells and get rid of cells that could be harmful to the body, such as cancer or potentially cancerous cells.

Inflammation in the body and reduction of oxidative damage can highly impact aging and the development of common lifestyle diseases like cancer, heart, lung, and brain diseases.

Fasting has many health benefits, but you should talk to your doctor before beginning because it may still leave you feeling hungry.
