    What’s The Tea?

It is safe to assume that coffee is one of the more popular drinks nowadays. Especially with the amount of coffee shops present around us, and the culture of coffee with not just the working class, but for students as well.

However, it is not the only hot drink that we can enjoy, with the other, and possibly healthier alternative to a cup of coffee being a cup of tea.

Similar to coffee, tea also gives us energy, but can also provide inner and outer warmth for the body, an effect that can provide a soothing and relaxing feeling that can keep us relaxed and at peace.

There is a tendency for people to avoid tea because of its taste, but that can easily be solved by finding a tea that suits your taste buds. With taste out of the way, tea also provides various health benefits in addition to giving you energy like coffee does.

Coffee has always been associated and created with concentration and invigoration of the person in mind, while tea has roots in traditional medicine as a treatment. The herbal content of tea is what powers the benefits that it has on health, and is why it has been commonly known to be the healthier drink.

    Tea and the Brain

Drinking tea has multiple benefits and its benefits for the brain is one of its more important characteristics.

The caffeine and L-theanine content of tea allows the brain to become more alert and increases its focus. Studies have also shown that the antioxidant content of tea provides a lower chance for regular tea drinkers to develop neurological diseases and cognitive decline.

    Tea and the Heart

Tea also shows improvement to our cardiovascular health, particularly those who drink it at least three times per week.

The components of tea have been observed and linked to lower cholesterol and improved blood vessel function, both of which benefit our cardiovascular health.

The best kind of tea to improve our cardiovascular system would be the heart-health leaders of the tea types, black and green tea. They are rich in flavonoids, which are known to help suppress inflammation, which is a major cause of heart disease.

    Tea and Weight Loss

Caffeine has been commonly observed as a stimulant that aids in fat burning and improves performance in physical activity. Coffee may have more caffeine content, but it also contains sugar. Tea, on the other hand, has enough caffeine to produce a mild effect.

In addition, tea also contains Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant that can boost metabolism, promote fat breakdown, and contribute to weight loss alongside caffeine. This effect is even stronger during exercise.

Having a cup of tea to replace the cup of coffee can go a long way towards our health. The benefits that have been mentioned aren’t the only benefits that tea can give. Tea after all, has been made with our health in mind.

With all the advancements to medicine and food, there now exists teas that focus on addressing your current need in time. The different types of teas are all easily accessible too, being available at your local store, supermarket, or through the internet.

Even if it cannot replace the cup of coffee we drink in the morning, having tea during any time of the day can still give us the benefits that it provides. And now, more than ever we can decide the benefits that our drinks can give.
