The Most Advanced Eye Screening in the Country is in Shinagawa Lasik Center!
When it comes to an in-depth test that will fully show how your eyes are, our Comprehensive Eye Screening is second to none.
As opposed to the basic eye check in most optical clinics, we present thorough exams to make sure your eyes are well covered.
Our thorough 2-3 hour screening, featuring some of the most advanced machines available, will enable our experienced doctors and medical team to have an in-depth look at each patient’s unique case to map out the best possible treatment plan.
Here’s what you can expect during your eye screening:
Autorefractor & Keratometer
The Comprehensive Eye Screening starts with this machine to measure your eye’s focusing power and the curvature of your cornea.

Tonometry (Eye Pressure Test)
Your intraocular pressure is also checked—this is a key part of screening for glaucoma.

Corneal Topography
Next, the surface of your cornea will be mapped—this helps detect irregularities like astigmatism or keratoconus.

Cycloplegic refraction and dilated fundus exam
In some cases, your pupils may be dilated to get a better view of your retina and optic nerve.

Slit Lamp Examination
This microscope is used to take a closer look at the front and back of your eye to spot any abnormalities.

Important Screening Notes
The entire screening process takes approximately 2-3 hours and includes eye dilation, an eye check-up by an optometrist, and a final recommendation by an ophthalmologist.
Discontinue wearing contact lenses prior to screening – Soft lenses: 7-days, Toric lenses: 2-weeks, Hard lenses: 1-month, Ortho-K lenses: 3 months
Driving is not allowed after the screening due to temporary blurred vision caused by dilation. This blurring typically lasts for 3 to 5 hours.
Medication- Patients should not be using isotretinoin, and should not be pregnant or nursing.
No heavy makeup or eyelash extensions are recommended.
Patients are advised to get 6-8 hours of sleep to help ensure a more stable refraction.
One-Day Process (Morning: Eye Screening, Afternoon: Procedure) – In case the patient is qualified for the procedure and wish to have it on the same day, please expect to stay in the clinic for the entire day. The surgery orientation and procedure will be scheduled in the afternoon.
Identifying problems can prevent any significant damage to your vision, eye health and your overall health in general.
